Something odd is going on.
We run Anne Fine's web site, and have set up a Google alert so that whenever Anne's name appears on the net, we get notified. And we have noticed that over the past couple of months, somebody has been setting up blogger accounts with names that are xxxx-anne-books.blogger.com, where the xxxx is a shuffling of the letters f i n e. So far I have noticed fein ifne and fnie, which was the first to be set up. But not, so far, fine, which is how I have been able to snaffle it. That leaves another 20 available for the taking.
So far as I can see the blog entries are designed to generate income by linking to Amazon.com and collecting the Amazon Associate commission. The content seems to have been copied from elsewhere on the web. It's all a bit baffling. Watch this space for developments!
